FAQ

What it is and how the rating system works

PAM-SRS

PAM-SRS (Perceptual And Metric Sound Rating System) is the world’s first system to provide an objective and certified evaluation of a track’s sound quality.

How does the PAM-SRS system work?

It combines the human analysis of a certified engineer with rigorous data verification using specialized metric tools. The 13 analyzed parameters, each with a specific weight, converge into a final score from 0 to 100 divided into 5 levels. Only tracks that reach the highest level (score ≥ 80) receive the PAM-SRS certification.

How does the PAM-SRS system define a new objective standard for sound quality?

PAM-SRS represents a breakthrough in the music industry, something that didn’t exist before. We now have an objective system for evaluating the audio quality of a track, whereas previously we could only rely on the listener’s own perception. The numerical rating places that track within a well-defined range. However, the evaluation doesn’t depend solely on the parametric application of the rating system: a track’s audio quality is the result of its various creation phases. Each phase contributes positively or negatively to the final result. Concept, arrangement, recording, editing, mix, and master. Every phase requires attention to detail to achieve a high-quality sonic result for the track.

How does a high PAM-SRS target increase my track’s competitiveness on streaming platforms and in clubs?

A song with objectively higher sound quality than another is a pleasure for our ears! A high PAM-SRS score is a measurable competitive advantage; it means your track possesses the clarity, power, and cohesion needed to stand out:

  • On streaming platforms: Audio codecs (like those from Spotify and Apple Music) work best with well-structured signals, reducing unwanted distortion and preserving the artistic intent.
  • In club sound systems: A certified master guarantees immediate impact, powerful and defined bass, and high intelligibility even at high volumes, instantly capturing the audience’s attention.

In short, it won’t just sound “better,” it will sound professionally superior.

How do you guarantee the impartiality and objectivity of the PAM-SRS score?

In two ways:

  1. the engineer certifying the track is always different from the one who performed the mix/master, eliminating any influence (impartiality)
  2. objectivity is inherent in the very nature of PAM-SRS; we designed and developed this system precisely to minimize, if not eliminate, subjective opinions, even though the system inevitably has a “human” part (the “perceptual” section of the process) in its evaluation

Our engineers are all trained in the same way to maintain the integrity, impartiality, and objectivity of PAM-SRS.

How do you reconcile the data-driven analysis of PAM-SRS with the artistic vision and emotional intent of my project?

PAM-SRS defines a track’s sonic quality value, not its emotional impact or its soul. What a track aims to convey depends on numerous factors, primarily compositional and arrangement choices. Mix and master can also contribute in a small way to the track’s emotional impact. To preserve what you want to convey, we ask you to include a brief description in the “Notes” field in the order section; this will be valuable information for us. PAM-SRS, as unique as it is, provides a numerical result on audio quality, not on the message conveyed by the track.
We hope no number can ever quantify an emotion, especially one transmitted by a song.

Audio examples, equipment and music genres

AUDIO QUALITY

Discover the technical foundation of our work. Listen to audio examples, explore the professional equipment and calibrated studios we use, and learn about our genre expertise and universal quality approach.

Where can I listen to some representative examples of your work?

Listen to our AudioReel.

What equipment do you work with?

We work in our studios, in rooms with designed and calibrated acoustics. We monitor on professional speakers, which are also calibrated for their respective rooms (Neumann, Barefoot, IK Multimedia, Auratone), and with Sennheiser professional headphones. We use Apple systems with Logic Pro and Pro Tools DAWs, along with a vast selection of plugins including (in no particular order and not exhaustively) Universal Audio, Waves, iZotope, Plugin Alliance, FabFilter, Acustica Audio, SoundToys, Valhalla, Sixth Sample, Sonimus, Goodhertz, Voxengo, Kiive Audio, and Sonarworks. We are always evaluating new equipment, techniques, and methodologies to stay at the forefront of the industry.

Do you specialize in specific music genres?

Our expertise and the PAM-SRS system are successfully applicable to any music genre. However, we specialize in EDM and Pop, where sonic precision and impact are fundamental. Whatever your genre, your track will be treated with the same meticulousness and quality ambition.

Package differences and certification terms

SERVICES

Compare service packages. Understand the differences in delivery time, revisions, and certification, and get clear answers on what the PAM-SRS score guarantee means for your track.

What is the fundamental difference between the GOLD and PLATINUM packages?

The fundamental difference lies in the level of depth, speed, and certified recognition of quality.

  • GOLD PACKAGE: Our essential, high-quality service. It includes a translation report on selected reference systems and 2 revisions. Delivery time: 10 business days.
  • PLATINUM PACKAGE: Our premium offering. In addition to everything included in the GOLD package, it benefits from:
    • Reduced delivery times (5 business days)
    • An additional revision (3 in total)
    • A comprehensive translation test on an expanded spectrum of audio systems
    • The official PAM-SRS certification, the objective seal of sonic excellence that distinguishes your track on the market
    • The PLATINUM package is not just a service; it is an investment in the maximum competitiveness of your sound
How many revisions are included in the service?
  • GOLD Package: 2 revisions included
  • PLATINUM Package: 3 revisions included

Our goal is to achieve perfection together. Revisions are our tool for refining details and ensuring the track fully reflects your vision, with the technical quality that distinguishes us.

Does purchasing the PLATINUM service guarantee that the track will receive the PAM-SRS certification with a score above 80?

No. Purchasing the PLATINUM service guarantees that the track will undergo the complete PAM-SRS evaluation, but it does not guarantee that the minimum score (80/100) required for certification will be achieved. The final result intrinsically depends on the quality of the source material (the stems provided). Our engineers apply the highest expertise to maximize every production, but sometimes there are objective technical limitations stemming from compromised stem quality that cannot be overcome during the mixing and mastering stages. PAM-SRS certification is a seal of excellence that certifies the achievement of an objective quality standard. Our commitment is to deliver the best possible result starting from the material provided to us, which is why we encourage achieving the highest possible quality during the production phase.

File preparation, revisions and final delivery

WORKFLOW

Follow the process from submission to final masters. Learn how to prepare and send your files, our revision and update policy, delivery formats, and our commitment to achieving your complete satisfaction.

Is it possible to request a specific engineer from the team for my project?

We understand the preference for an already established relationship. Upon request and subject to availability, it is possible to request a specific engineer. In any case, all our engineers are trained to deliver the same level of quality in both the processing and the final results, and they undergo constant training on the best tools, techniques, and methodologies.

How should I prepare and send my tracks (stems) to ensure the optimal result?

To get the most out of our service, we have created a detailed guide on how to prepare your tracks. Please follow our guidelines in the STEMS section to ensure an impeccable workflow and an optimal result.

Do you recommend a specific file transfer service?

You can use the service you prefer (WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, Swiss Transfer, etc.). We recommend choosing a service that provides longexpiry download links to avoid any hiccups. Mixered Pro is not affiliated with any of these services.

Is it possible to monitor the work’s progress or receive updates?

To maintain maximum focus on your project and meet our promised delivery times, we work uninterrupted and do not provide real-time updates. Our philosophy is to deliver a finished, high-quality product, on which you can then provide detailed feedback through the included revision process. Your patience is rewarded by our total dedication to your track.

Is it possible to hear pre-mixes during the processing of the tracks?

That would be like evaluating a building under construction or an artist’s incomplete canvas. We suggest waiting for the work to be completed; at that point, we will always be available through the included revisions to make any changes necessary to achieve exactly the expected result.

If an engineer becomes unavailable, how do you manage work continuity to avoid delays?

In case of unforeseen events, we will assign the project to another available engineer (who has access to all project notes and sessions). This engineer will continue the work until the originally assigned engineer becomes available again or will bring it to completion. All our engineers are trained to deliver the same level of quality in processes and final results and are constantly updated on the best tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Can you handle entire album projects while ensuring sonic consistency across all tracks?

Absolutely! All our engineers are trained to work on single tracks as well as larger, more complex projects.

In which formats will I receive the final tracks?

For every requested version, we will always provide two files: an uncompressed WAV (or AIF upon request) at 16-bit – 44.1kHz (24-bit or 32-bit upon request / other sample rates upon request), and a compressed MP3 at 320Kbps.

How will I receive the final tracks?

They will be sent to you via an online file transfer service. Due to file sizes, it is not possible to send files via email, and we do not ship physical media. Mixered Pro is not affiliated in any way with any online file transfer services; we are users just like any other customer.

Is it possible to request additional versions (instrumental, a cappella, for TV)?

Certainly, you can add these requests in the “Notes” field when ordering the track. Please note that once the track processing has begun, it will not be possible to provide additional versions.

Do you provide the source mix and mastering projects?

We are sorry, but we do not provide source projects to protect the tools, techniques, and methodologies applied, which are a “trademark” of Mixered Pro.

What happens if I am not completely satisfied with the final result?

We pride ourselves on the fact that in over 35 years of activity, we have never had a single track rejected beyond the revisions included in the chosen package. How do we achieve this? We analyze the track before processing it, carefully listening to your requests and sometimes providing suggestions for a result that meets expectations. And it will always be that way. Your satisfaction is our absolute priority.

File security, intellectual property and NDAs

SECURITY & PRIVACY

Review our commitment to protecting your work. This covers file security, confidentiality agreements (NDAs), intellectual property rights, and our data backup practices.

How do you guarantee the security and privacy of my files throughout the entire process?

The security of your projects is fundamental to us. All files entrusted to us are stored on secured devices with access restricted solely to the technical team assigned to the project, as described in the terms and conditions at the time of purchase. For the transfer phase (upload/download), which occurs via third-party services, we recommend using reliable services that offer encrypted (or password-protected) and expiring links. Once the files are in our systems, their confidentiality is guaranteed as described above.

Are my tracks and project data protected by a confidentiality agreement (NDA)?

Yes. Confidentiality is an integral part of our service. All staff are bound by confidentiality agreements, and we treat every project with the utmost discretion. An additional formal NDA can be arranged upon request for particularly sensitive projects. Full details are, of course, specified in our Terms and Conditions.

Who holds the intellectual property of the tracks entrusted to you during the production phases?

The intellectual property of the tracks belongs to you or those who have registered the rights, and it remains so. Mixered Pro owns the processes, techniques, and project files (mix/master sessions) used to transform your work. In other words, you own the “song,” and we own the “work” done on it.

Who holds the intellectual property of the tracks once completed?

The intellectual property of the tracks belongs to you or those who have registered the rights. The production process does not alter this ownership.

How long do you keep a backup copy of the delivered masters?

We provide a courtesy storage service, but the primary responsibility for the final backup lies with the client. For your convenience and for any future requests, we keep a copy of the delivered masters for a limited
period
. Since storage space is not unlimited, projects are periodically removed in chronological order, starting with the oldest. We highly recommend that you securely store the copies we send you.

All transactions are encrypted and processed through secure, certified payment platforms. For transactions, we rely on WooPayments, a world leader and a secure component of WooCommerce, the technology upon which the Mixered Pro website is built.

Why are the prices excluding VAT?

Our service is provided by a European company. According to EU regulations for business-to-business (B2B) services, the reverse charge is applied to worldwide exchanges, meaning the obligation to account for the VAT due on the service is transferred to the buyer, who must declare it according to the tax laws of their own country. Our invoices are structured to be fully compliant with this international tax regulation.
